Thoughts on music!

Things to listen to this fall
A shameless promo

"Bob Dylan-core", "Anthony Bourdain Rat Autumn" and similar terms have been popping up on my For You Page. You know what time it is: Cozy, dark, gloomy, and more synonyms. Here's a few albums I want to suggest.

Funeral by Arcade Fire is one of, if not the quintessential angsty indie record. Themes of growing up, being trapped in suburbia, rebellion, and * guide the album through a dynamic mix of songs. From strongly driven, distorted rock songs to an acoustic ballad or two, lush and dense instrumentation shape this album. The folky instrumentation makes it feel warm and cozy, with the anthemic Wake Up's chorus serving as a hug, connecting angsty teenagers worldwide for nearly two decades now.

Siamese Dream, according to some (me) Smashing Pumpkins' best album, is their closest brush to shoegaze of their career. Recorded with layers upon layers of guitar tracks, the harsh fuzz so characteristic to the Pumpkins'work softens to a warm blanket of sound. By no means does this imply the record is without it's agressive moments; the solo in Cherub Rock is electrifying, and plenty of tracks could serve for a moshpit as well as a soundtrack to your favorite novel by the fireplace.

Need more suggestions? Luckily i have a playlist for that
